Ancestors
A few days ago I manage to read up a bit on the Yeoh family. Not a deep research but I am amazed at the family and the younger generation. There is one sentence that young Jacob Yeoh say that caught my attention, “The acorn doesn’t fall far from tree.” This is indeed quite true. A glance at Tan Sri Dato’ Yeoh Tiong Lay who is now 81, we would wonder how much effort is put into this Yeoh family business. His action of planting the seed lead to the success of his sons and whose legacy is then continue by Tan Sri Francis Yeoh, who is the Managing Director of the YTL Group, and his son Jacob Yeoh who is believed to be next in line.
Looking at the Yeoh family, it just brings about the thought of my own family. One thing I believed the Yeoh family has never failed to do is to let God define their step. The legacy that is passed down is one that I believe every family should have, or rather I hope my family will have when Clictus and me have our family. Grandparents play a role in the bringing up of the next generation. However, parents is still the main role model in the childrens’ life. However busy we are, it should be our first priority to spend time with the children teaching them different aspects of life as they grow up. This is what I pray for our family. Setting the right direction is crucial to ensure the right legacy is continue as the children grow up, have their own family, or even when they go out and explore the world.
The best
You know in our life journey, we have always heard we are waiting for the one to be for our spouse? Certain times we define the best as in the perfect one. But I have one question to ask, who is perfect except Jesus Christ? Many times we observe and we think that ‘Oh, he/she is the perfect one for me.’ I did that before as well, proven *ETTT*. Now if you ask me, is Clictus perfect? I will tell you, no, he is not perfect, BUT, he is the perfect match for me. Someone perfect from external appearance may not be perfect for you. You see, God made Adam and Eve, and Eve is made from Adam’s rib. One Adam One Eve. From here we can see that not everyone can have the same opinion of one people. Even if they do, those who stay with them would say otherwise. Thus, this tells us ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’
Why am I putting in this paragraph? Well, I have been thinking of we girls generally like to hope to have rich spouse. Do we actually know what comes with wealth? It is not just shopping and spending. Responsibility comes along. There is also this saying in Cantonese and Chinese, 没有这样大的头就别戴这样大的帽子. Haha.. forgive me but I was having my thoughts and I think it is quite true. Well, unless the rich family is mostly anchored by man and woman are to be housewives and look after the family. Even then, social is also part of the job of the wife. Hm.. am I wrong now? hahah… just thoughts of life. Probably watched too much drama series the past few years. Not saying you can’t upgrade your status in society, there are always exceptions. However, first, improve yourself, in character and in maturity, then your life is worth living because you know you are not living to please others, but to please the Creator, God of heaven and earth.
Amen.
